Osborne House

Osborne House in East Cowes was the summer residence of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. They built the present building between 1845-51 after deciding that the previous house at that location was not large enough for their needs. Thomas Cubitt was the architect of the building, but Prince Albert played an active role in the design. The mansion is built in an Italianate style and attracts visitors throughout the year.
